FINANCIAL AID FOR CLUBS in NI

We are pleased to announce the Triathlon Clubs based in Northern Ireland can now apply for a new fund opened by Sport Northern Ireland and the Department for Communities. In December, Sport NI opened the £25M Sports Sustainability Fund. This fund is designed to help governing bodies of sport and clubs who have been financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sport NI and the Department for Communities recognise the significant financial impact of the restrictions on sports governing bodies, clubs and sporting organisations; limiting opportunities for organisations to generate income in the usual ways, such as club membership, running events and competitions, having spectators at games and by attracting sponsorship.

Therefore the Sports Sustainability Fund will provide the needed financial support to alleviate evidenced financial hardship, experienced as a result of COVID19. Further information on the Sports Sustainability Fund is available here.

APPLICATIONS

The fund will be administered by Sport NI and Triathlon Ireland. Any triathlon club based in Northern Ireland and currently affiliated to Triathlon Ireland is eligible to apply. Clubs will need to submit a completed application and provide supporting documentation to Triathlon Ireland.

*The deadline for receipt of applications to Triathlon Ireland has been extended to 3pm on Wednesday, 13th January 2021.*

Triathlon Ireland has contacted clubs with information and guidance on how to apply for the Sports Sustainability fund – however if your club has not heard from us please get in touch with Linda O’Connor, Triathlon Ireland Finance Manager.
