TCD Seeking Female Triathletes for Physiological Testing
TCD is seeking Participants for a Research Study
To observe the effects of an individualised, laboratory-based exercise prescription of twelve weeks’ duration on performance markers such as Maximal Heart Rate and Lactate Threshold.
Who Are They Looking For?
Club-level female triathletes with a minimum of 2 years participating in the sport. Participants are required to have completed an Olympic-distance Triathlon.
What Will You Have To Do?
You will be required to participate in 5 fitness tests (two maximal tests and three time-trials) performed on a cycle ergometer in the Exercise Laboratory within the Anatomy Department, Trinity College Dublin. You will keep a diary of your training over the course of the three months, and be encouraged to partake in a triathlon competition at the end of the three month training phase in order to assess the effects of our training programme where it really matters!
How Will You Benefit?
You will receive a full medical examination and a personalised 12-week training programme based on the above-mentioned performance markers from your exercise test. A personalised training program precisely reflects YOUR personal fitness characteristics and therefore has the potential to improve your performance in a highly specific manner. Half of our participants will receive the training program in January, and half in April.
Who Do I Contact?
