Smiles All Round at Cork Splash n’Dash

A sunny Sunday in Fermoy saw more than 20 children participating in an Inclusive Splash n’ Dash run by Triathlon Ireland in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership as part of their SportsAbility month.
For many of the children participating it was their first opportunity to be involved in a triathlon event. On a memorable day, all had a wonderful time.
Cork Sports Partnership Sports Inclusion Disability Officer, Cliona Horan said she was delighted with the collaboration:
“This inclusive Splash n’Dash enabled children with disabilities to participate in triathlon in a safe and fun environment and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The event kicked off Cork Sports Partnership’s inaugural SportsAbility month which aims to promote inclusive sport in Cork. We look forward to building on the success of this event and strengthening our relationship with Triathlon Ireland for more events in the future”
Triathlon Ireland Development Officer, Eleanor Condon said providing opportunities for people with disabilities at all levels is of the utmost importance to Triathlon Ireland.
