International Age Group Events 2025
Want to take on a new challenge? Join Tri-Team Ireland and race in Europe and around the World against others in your age group.
If you would like to qualify to race for Tri-Team Ireland in World Triathlon and Europe Triathlon events, you can find the criteria and selection routes below. You can enter and compete in more than one qualification event but you only need to register once for each Championship. You can qualify for multiple Championships, however, current World Triathlon Competition Rules do not allow an athlete to take part in two events within a 24 hour period at the same or separate Championships where one event is Standard Distance or longer.

Application Procedure
Becoming a Triathlon Ireland Age Group athlete involves a few key steps. Follow the instructions below to ensure your application is successfully completed.
Eligibility
- Application is open to all athletes who meet the Eligibility Criteria.
- Athletes must hold a current Triathlon Ireland membership at the time of submitting their online application.
Application Process
- To be considered for selection, you must submit a completed application form online via your Triathlon Ireland account.
- Athletes must meet one of the Selection Criteria to qualify for a selected event.
Fees and Documentation
- The Triathlon Ireland Age Group Administration fee must be paid online when submitting your application. This fee is non-refundable, in line with the Triathlon Ireland refund policy.
- All supporting documentation must be submitted to Triathlon Ireland by 5:00 PM on the application closing date.
- You can upload your documents during the application process or afterward by selecting the “Upload Document” option in your Triathlon Ireland account.
- Required supporting documentation includes:
- Proof of Eligibility
- Race results that support your application.
How to Apply
All applications must be completed through the online entry system. Follow these steps:
- Log in to your account on the Triathlon Ireland website.
- Go to the ‘My Account’ section and select ‘Age Group Selection Application’.
- Choose the race(s) you wish to apply for.
- Upload your supporting documentation, including Proof of Eligibility and race results.

All athletes must wear the official World Triathlon-approved tri-suit, which must be ordered exclusively from the Triathlon Ireland Store. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in ineligibility to race. For full details on the official World Triathlon tri-suit regulations, please refer to the World Triathlon Tri-Suit Rules & Catalog.
