National Duathlon Series 2024 Results

After 11 exciting rounds the Duathlon National Series has come to an end for 2024. Starting in January with the Galco Naas Duathlon and finishing in April with the Duathlon National Championships in Dublin’s Phoenix Park showcasing some of the best Run-Bike-Run events Ireland has to offer.

2024 saw new series winners after Ciara Wilson and Anthony O’Brien had dominated the previous two seasons.

James Graham’s Perfect Score

James Graham of Peninsula Triathlon Club produced a perfect score of 2400 points to claim the Men’s National Duathlon Series title.

Graham’s win at Galco Naas Round 2 provided 700 points, to add to the 700 for winning SERE Lisburn, bringing him into the Phoenix Park National Championships level with Belpark Triathlon Club’s Conal Cremen.

Cremen had also secured back to back wins at Athy’s Flat Out Duathlon and the Carlow Duathlon, to also enter the National Championships with 1400 points. However, a 5th place finish in Phoenix Park saw Graham’s points secure the overall series lead.

Enda Bagnall of Eden Triathlon Club rounded out the overall series podium with two 2nd place finishes and a 7th at the National Championships, also securing the overall top spot in the 45-49 age category.

Roberts Dominates Women’s Series

Megan Roberts of Piranha Triathlon Club dominated the Women’s Series this year. As in the Men’s Series, the overall winner entered the National Championships with 1400 points; with wins at both the Tramore Medical Clinic WTC Tramore Duathlon and the Carlow Duathlon. Her 5th place finish at the National Championships in Phoenix Park saw her seal the overall series title for 2024.

Meadhbh Moynihan from Crosshaven Triathlon Club and Roisin Kelleher of Limerick Triathlon Club battled for second and third place in the series with only 50 points separating them in the overall standings.

Both athletes came into the National Championships with combined points of 1246.438. Moynihan crossed the line 56 seconds ahead of Kelleher to seal her second place in the overall standings, with Kelleher completing the overall podium.
