Galco Naas Duathlon Race Report
Hosted by Naas Tri Club

A great turnout at Naas Racecourse on Sunday, 9th March, saw athletes participate in the 2025 Galco Naas Duathlon, hosted by Naas Tri Club. The morning was dry and bright with a mild wind and cool temperatures, providing near-ideal racing conditions around the fast and flat course. With a stacked field in both the men’s and women’s events, spectators were treated to some outstanding racing.

There are still plenty of duathlons to take part in this season, so if you would like to give it a go, check out our Race Calendar.

Men’s Race

Niall Cornyn led from the start to take victory in dominant fashion. Having already claimed wins in the Limerick Duathlon and Tramore earlier in the season, Cornyn has continued to show his class as one of the top duathletes in the country. Coming off the first 3.2-kilometer run, Leo Corry and Ben Butler followed Cornyn onto the bike, trailing by 41 seconds.

Out on the bike, Leo Corry put in a strong effort to close the gap slightly, moving into second place. Meanwhile, Ben Butler made his move in the final kilometers of the run to secure third place in an exciting sprint to the finish.

Men’s Podium:

  • 🥇 Niall Cornyn – 00:53:00
  • 🥈 Leo Corry – 00:54:20
  • 🥉 Ben Butler – 00:55:05

Women’s Race

The women’s race lived up to expectations with a competitive field. Geraldine Leete was first into T1 with a time of 00:12:38 but was quickly followed by Róisín Kelleher. Behind them, Andrea Brennan and Sharon Cahill were in close pursuit.

On the bike leg, Kelleher took the lead with a powerful ride finishing in 00:34:40, setting up a thrilling final run. Despite the strong start from Leete, Kelleher held on to take the win. It was neck and neck between Brennan and Cahill coming up to the finish, with Andrea Brennan crossing the line just six seconds ahead of Sharon Cahill to take the second step on the podium.

Women’s Podium:

  • 🥇 Roisin Kelleher – 01:03:07
  • 🥈 Andrea Brennan – 01:06:29
  • 🥉 Sharon Cahill – 01:06:35

With fantastic performances across all categories, the Galco Naas Duathlon once again proved to be a highlight of the racing calendar. Congratulations to all competitors, and we look forward to seeing you at the next event!
