ABOUT IRENE CLARK

This workshop will be hosted by Irene Clark. Irene has worked in the health industry for the last 16 years coaching women in athletics, strength and conditioning, general fitness coaching, and nutrition from a background in Sports Science.

Irene also works as a coach developer/mentor for Sport Ireland through Athletics Ireland and the Local Sports Partnerships. Irene has recently finished the first Programme for Midlife Women in any sports NGB in Ireland with Athletics Ireland which worked towards practical solutions through specific exercise and nutrition changes to combat the 30% dropout rate in sports at this age group.

Irene has collaborated with active women at all levels from participation to those aiming for performance at national and international levels. She noticed that what they all have in common is that they have struggled during the menopause years. This led her to undertake in-depth training on the science behind our new physiology and what we can do to support ourselves to thrive not just survive this period of our lives.
