Triathlon Ireland, in conjunction with Sporting Pride, is delighted to launched Tri with Pride, the ‘new to duathlon’ programme aimed at getting more of the LGBTQ+ community involved in the sport.

Tri with Pride Programme

Starting on Monday 18th January, the six-week Tri with Pride programme will bring participants from complete beginner all the way to fully fledged duathlete! Participants will learn the basics of duathlon, which is a combination of running and cycling. Duathlon is very doable and, most of all, great fun!

While the programme is being run virtually, a team of experienced professionals are on hand to provide support and guidance the entire way. At the end of the programme, there will be a 'try a duathlon' event that will be a run, bike, run event.

The training programme has been developed by Triathlon Ireland Development Officer and Level 2 Triathlon Coach Gary Crossan. There will also be a weekly Zoom Turbo session for the group with Gary.

Each week, Nutritionist and 'Beyond the Finish Line' Women in Sport Advocate Fiona O'Donnell will give advice on different aspects of supporting your training and how to fuel it with your nutrition.

General Support

Triathlon Ireland Development Officer Nikki Bradley will also host a weekly Zoom session where participants can share progress updates and talk/connect with each other.
