The last standard distance race of this year's BMW Triathlon National Series took place at Tried & Tested Triathlon, Dungarvan hosted by Tried & Tested Triathlon Club.  Plenty of racing took place on Saturday, 7th September with a sprint and a standard distance triathlon, almost 500 triathletes took to the water on Clonea Beach.

Conditions were ideal and athletes were greeted with low winds and temperatures in the mid teens for the two lap swim, the 40 kilometre out and back rolling bike course and the ten kilometre fast and flat run.

Scully wins first BMWTriSeries title of 2019

The rolling start meant that triathletes in both distances were racing the clock with only a slight idea of exact standings within the race. In the men's race Michael Scully was first home, John O'Rourke second and Enda Bagnall in third place.

Wilson on form

In the women's race, Ciara Wilson was on form crossing the line almost five minutes faster than second placed Clare Dillon. Third placed Denise Compton completes the podium with a time of 2:40:53.
