Local Technical Official Course Triathlon Ireland is pleased to announce the introduction of our new Local Technical Official (LTO) course. The LTO course is the initial segment of the accredited Technical Officials education programme that matches the accreditation requirements to conform with the ITU Level 1 Technical Officials certificate programme.Local Technical Official CourseThe Local Technical Official course is the initial step on the ITU officiating pathway. The LTO qualification is aimed at any person who is interested in becoming a volunteer Technical Official and has been designed to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently officiate at Triathlon Ireland sanctioned events. After successful completion of the LTO day course, participants must complete an open book exam and shadow at six Triathlon Ireland sanctioned events (one event must be pool based and two multisport). Participants will be asked to complete an online TO report for each event and feedback will be provided.The training is made up of:A full day courseOpen book MCQThe completion of six shadows of qualified OfficialsCompletion and submission of event reportsFollowing the successful completion of the theoretical and practical elements, candidates will be eligible to officiate as Technical Delegates and Race Referees at TI events.
