Notes: 1. Races applying for a given
Tier must meet ALL OF THE CRITERIA ABOVE in addition to the normal TI Race
Sanctioning criteria. 2. All PL races are
non-drafting. 3. New races & lapsed
races. (a) Races being run for the first time cannot be
part of the PL Tiers 1-3. (b) Races which have not been run in the 2 years
before the current season (i.e. have lapsed) will not be eligible
for Tiers 1-3. (c) Where a race has lapsed for one year (not
more), and is proposed for the current season to qualify for
PL Tiers 1-3 it must be held in the same location and be organised by the same
Club. 4. Minimum TI Member quotas
refer to the number of TI Members guaranteed entry up to the closing date. A relay team of TI members is counted
as 1 for this purpose. Any number
of One-Day Licence (ODL) places may be offered in addition to the
minimum TI Member quota. (e.g. if
a race in Tier 2 decides on an entry limit of 300 then at least 200 of these
places must be reserved for TI Members.
If fewer than 200 TI Members apply by the race closing date then the
surplus can be made up with ODL entrants who will have been kept on a standby
list until the closing date.) 5. Athletes may use results
from the 2006 ITU and ETU Age Group championships to count among their Tier 1
race scores. 6. It is up to Race
Organisers to nominate their race to a particular tier by Feb 14th 2006. After that date any race who has not
requested a particular tier will be classified as Tier 4. 7. When entering a race the
athlete recognises that it is up to the Race Organiser to deliver a race that
meets all the criteria to which they committed. If the race does not meet the criteria (including due to
unforeseen events on race day), it will be altered in Tier appropriately and
the Race Points for the revised Tier will be used to calculated the athleteÕs
points score. If the event is
cancelled or modified to a duathlon/aquathlon it will not count towards the
Premier League. Scoring System:
Notes: 1. Calculation of an
athlete's points score from a race. As previously an athlete's
score in a race will be calculated as: Athlete's Score = Race Points * (Winner's Time) /
(Athlete's Time) Men's and Women's Points will
be calculated with respect to the fastest man's time and fastest women's time
respectively. 2. Calculation of an
Athlete's total Premier League Total Score An athlete's total score will
be made up of their FIVE highest
qualifying points scores in the PL. Depending on the number of
races in each Tier, different limits on the numbers of scores from each Tier
will count. In a situation where there
are 4 Tier 1 races. 7 Tier 2 races and 6 Tier 3 races, the athlete's score
would have to include at least one Tier 3 score, a maximum of 2 Tier 1 scores
with the two remaining scores in their total coming from Tier 2 or lower. If the number of races in a
Tier reduces during the season (through cancellation, failing to meet criteria,
etc), the number of scores in each Tier to count toward the total will be determined by the
actual number of races in each Tier at the end of the season. (e.g. if 4 races declare as
Tier 1 at the start of the season but only 3 deliver on the Tier 1 criteria,
then each athlete may only include ONE Tier 1 score in their total.) 3. Inclusion of results
from 2006 ITU and ETU Age Group Championships. Athletes may use results from
the 2006 ITU and ETU Age Group championships to count as Tier 1 race
scores. In order to reflect the
higher overall standard at these races, and therefore lower athlete score
relative to the race winner, the Race Points for these races awarded as
follows: -
ITU AG Championships = 105 Race Points. -
ETU AG Championships = 101 Race Points. Points will be calculated relative
to the fastest overall male and female competitor respectively. The ITU and ETU AG
Championships do NOT count towards
consideration of the number of domestic Tier 1 races. If there are < 4 domestic Tier 1 races then only the
athlete's best Tier 1 score will count towards their PL points total. |
