The Manual of Guidance was reviewed at the end of 2011 and a revised version is now available.  For a full description of the sanctioning process and the requirements to apply for a Race Permit, please refer to the Manual of Guidance.

Race Sanctioning Fees 2012

Club organised races:

Races run by Triathlon Ireland affiliated clubs for the benefit of a triathlon club and the development and promotion of triathlon, duathlon and aquathon:

Race Requests Received Before 5pm Sat 31st Jan 2012

€150/£150 race sanctioning fee + €1/£1 for every extra competitor over 150 competitors ie. if you have 200 competitors, the total race sanctioning fee will be €150/£150 + €50/£50.

Race Requests Received After 5pm Sat 31st Jan 2012

€250/£250 race sanctioning fee + €1/£1 for every extra competitor over 150 competitors ie. if you have 200 competitors, the total race sanctioning fee will be €250/£250 + €50/£50.

All races will be invoiced for the permit fee once they have been allocated a race date. Races over 150 competitors will be invoiced for the balance (extra competitor fee) after the race date.

Commercial races:

Non triathlon club races, commercial organisations, incorporated entities, councils and charities:

Race Requests Received Before 5pm Sat 31st Jan 2012

€400/£400 race sanctioning fee + €1/£1 for every extra competitor over 150 competitors ie. if you have 200 competitors, the total race sanctioning fee will be €400/£400 + €50/£50

Race Requests Received After 5pm Sat 31st Jan 2012

€500/£500 race sanctioning fee + €1/£1 for every extra competitor over 150 competitors ie. if you have 200 competitors, the total race sanctioning fee will be €500/£500 + €50/£50

Triathlon Ireland will have the final decision in categorising a race.

When are Sanctioning Fees Due?:

All races must pay the race sanctioning in full to Triathlon Ireland before their race is published on the race calendar. Races over 150 competitors will be invoiced for the balance (extra competitor fee) after the race date.

New Races

If your race has not been sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland the previous year, you must submit an Event Management & Safety Plan to Triathlon Ireland prior to your race being included on the race calendar.  Please see below for a sample plan.  This is the plan which you must complete and submit to administrator@triathlonireland.com after you submit your online race request.
