Elite Duathlete Selection

Are you qualified to race as an Elite Duathlete?

There is no Sprint Distance Duathlon for Elite Athletes - (Update confirmed by ETU and ITU 13th Feb 2012).

Please accept our apologies for misinformation given by Triathlon Ireland regarding the above Sprint race and for any inconvenience that may have been caused. ITU will be updating their website to clarify the distances for races and categories in Horst in April 2012.

 

LONG DISTANCE:           2012 Horst ETU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon European Championships

To qualify to race as an Elite Athlete for the 2012 European Long Distance Duathlon Championship race you must satisfy the following criteria:

Application will be at the invitation of the Performance Director, as Triathlon Ireland does not have a long distance selection event in Ireland to facilitate qualification.

Friday, 17th February 2011 at 12 noon GMT.
No late applications will be considered. Applications by email only will be accepted, as outlined above. Please do not post any paper documentation to our office as it will not be considered.

There is no Sprint Distance Duathlon for Elite Athletes.

 

Eligibility to Race as Elite

To be eligible to race for Ireland as an elite athlete you must satisfy the criteria below:

  1. You must not have raced for another Triathlon Federation in the last year.
  2. You must be a Triathlon Ireland member when applying for a place and during the year of the race.

  3. Any late applications, supporting documentation or fees will not be considered by Triathlon Ireland.

  4. Categories are determined by the athlete’s age as of December 31st in the year of the race.  Elite and Junior (17-19).

  5. Acceptance of the offer of a place must be done in writing (email is sufficient). If you do not confirm your place, or if you decline a place, then your place may be offered to another qualified applicant, and will no longer be available to you. 

  6. All decisions for selection races will be taken from the official results, as supplied to Triathlon Ireland by the respective race. Any results will be subject to official Triathlon Ireland rules, and any time penalties, or other penalties, applied by the race officials.

  7. Triathlon Ireland will pay race entry fee for Elite Athletes.

  8. Be an Irish passport holder *

 

* Proof of passport must be emailed to the Triathlon Ireland office at hpadmin@triathlonireland.com. Your application will not be processed until this is received.
