Set on the famous North Down coast, the popular Peninsula Sea Sprint Triathlon is unique.

The fast course means a sprint-distance PB is achievable for the experienced triathletes.

At the same time, the bay swim and mainly flat course mean it is ideal for beginners.

The triathlon starts in Ballyholme Bay in Bangor and consists of:

* 750m (open water) swim
* 20km (inland) bike
* 5km (coastal) run

Over the years, triathletes from all over the island have come to the North Down coast to try for themselves this race - one of the must-do events on the racing calendar.

This year's event starts at 10am on Sunday June 24th.
