A delayed first day of the Grand Final saw six Irish athletes race across five events in Rotterdam. First up was Aidan McGlynn in the Men's Elite PTS5 event where he finished 11th. Next up were the open events, where Donncha McCarthy and David Kerr both finished 4th in the PTVI and PTWC categories respectively.

Con Doherty Rotterdam Bridge WC 2017

Later in the day there was disappointment however for Con Doherty and Chris Mintern who competed in the Elite U23 final.

After a great start which saw him up with the leaders, Mintern punctured and was forced to retire.

Doherty also retired during the bike leg in what will have been a disappointing end to a superb season.
