European Championships 2009 and a look forward to Athlone 2010Tuesday, June 30 2009 @ 12:21 AM IST - Contributed by: President | Views::490 This weekend Triathlon Ireland will take teams to compete in the European Championships at both Elite and Age Group competitions. Competing in the Elite competition are Aileen Morrison, Gavin Noble, and Bryan Keane. We are also taking 17 athletes to compete in the age group. We also look forward to the 2010 European Championships which will be held in Athlone. The qualification process for this has already started. Please read on for more.

Tomorrow sees the 25th running of Kilkee, 'Hell of the West'. The race is also our National Standard Distance Championships. With a full field, and a full spectrum of athletes from first timers taking on the race for the first time, and aiming to finish, to athletes from our Development Squad, aiming for the title of 'National Champion'. We wish all competitors the best of luck. We would also like to congratulate Limerick Triathlon Club on the 25th anniversary of the race. A full report will follow next week.  While two of Ireland's elite athletes were doing battle with the world's finest in Washington over the weekend, our stars of the future were being catered for at the Falls Park in Belfast.
